About Us

The Fenu Greek Co is the home of 100% organic spices. The uniqueness of Northeast India contributes to about 50% of India’s total diversity (Mao & Hynniewta, 2000) and its people drew us closer and closer to the land. And who can overlook the spice market? The region produces a whopping 6,00,000 tonnes of spices for global export annually. Thus, a personal interest in Northeast India’s local produce turned a thought into a full-fledged brand in 2022. We're driven by the passion to bring the indigenous spices to a global platform, and firmly believe, ‘When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.’

Mission
Though registered as Exporters by the Spices Board of India in 2022, we’ve always been actively involved at the ground level, working with the Government on various schemes and programs. We are proud to have provided numerous products and services to the departments of every North-eastern state. Our endeavour is to support Honourable PM Narendra Modi's vision of developing the region as the hub of organic farming.

Vision
Our core values guide our actions. We aspire to empower our partners, team members and customers to be a positive force in all that we do. We are building a transparent supply network and a community of farmers who believe in the power of goodness. We want to showcase the rich diversity of native North-eastern spice,  medicinal and aromatic plants and ensure everyone globally can access our products.

Conquering the terrain
Northeast India is not for the faint-hearted. The rigid terrain and wetlands pose a tough challenge to operate, as a lack of proper roads makes logistics cumbersome. Hence, reaching the farmers is no cakewalk. Incessant rainfall means a shutdown for months at a stretch because of roadblocks and floods. That being said, the region offers extensive opportunities in the agriculture sector. Plus, it has been untouched by the green revolution. The farmers here still use little to no chemical inputs and rely on traditional farming techniques — minimising dependence on pesticides, insecticides and fertilisers, thus safeguarding the quality of natural resources and the environment. Coupling these factors with our strong team based in Assam, we are poised to conquer every hurdle.

What the future holds
We want to ensure that all our collaborators feel valued and supported — especially the majority of our stakeholders, the female farmers. We constantly strive to change the economic, social and cultural outlook through a host of programs that focus on teaching skills required to increase productivity, build businesses and improve livelihood. We wholeheartedly encourage women’s empowerment and are invested in their success.
